Colourful Friday ~ Leaves

Friday once more and 'leaves' are the subject of today.

When Robyn first suggested 'leaves' I decided to take loads of photos and make a collage. Living in the country there are leaves of every size, shape and colour to imagine. So where is my collage? I guess it's in the same place that the last two weeks went.

Instead I've photographed my current UFO which is finally up to the stage of hand stitching the binding. I just love this leafy fabric and have used it for the border and binding. The dark chocolate on the right is the back of the quilt.

For much more leafy inspiration visit Robyn and the Colourful Friday Bloggers.

One Xmas Item A Month ~ It's the 25th

Good Morning ('s almost lunch time here) to all the Christmas Elves busily preparing for Christmas 2011. I hope you have made a good dent in your gift list or maybe you're looking forward to displaying new Christmas items around your home.
This month I'm really running behind and will be busy this afternoon making my item for July. All the requirements are laid out ready ... machine is ready ... pattern is traced. As the recipient is a regular visitor to my blog this will be my only photo and all I will hint is that this fellow likes the snow :)

I've visited a couple of 'Elves' this morning and they have some lovely goodies to share. Click on the July Xmas Page at the top of my blog where you can view pictures and follow the links to visit their blogs.

There are still 4 months before December so if you haven't made a Christmas Item yet there is still time to make a headstart on some Christmas sewing. Then next month on the 25th post a photo on your blog and leave me a comment so that we can all visit.

Thankyou to those who have been sewing along each month and keeping each other company as we look forward to a stress free Christmas.

W...W...Windy Wednesday

Today has been a lovely day ... cold, blustery winds howling outside while I've been inside with the fire going ... lovely for sewing.

First I finally managed a way around my downloading issues, traced off this tweety little 'W' and finished the stitching in no time. This makes me half way through Paula's 'Home Sweet Home' BOM.

Next in line were 34 little pieces of fabric which needed cutting into 2 1/2" squares. 17 have been sewn to block 6 of  'Because I Said So' and the remainder will be sewn to blocks 7 and 8.

It's UFO Thursday tomorrow if I've got my days correct ... so I'll be working on the final step of my Log Cabin. Hope you have some sewing planned too! (There is some housework also being done.)

Go Baby ... It's Almost Friday

Would you like to be in the running to win a Baby GO? Then head staight over and see Quiltjane at Want It,Need It, Quilt! to take part in her fantastic giveaway.

While you're blog hopping pay a visit to Handmade by Heidi if you'd like to sign up for Friday Night Sew-In ... it's on this Friday! I'll be stitching ... how about you?

Sunday Sewing

'Because I Said So' BOM
Month 3 ~ Block 5

With the bookwork out of the way for the last quarter, out came the sewing machine after lunch. The stitchery was already done, and I was able to blanket stitch some of the hearts at patchwork so Friday I finished off the remaining hearts.  Today all I had to do was machine it all together ... using lots of pins and patience and I'm pretty happy with how my points meet.

Month 4 contains blocks 6, 7 and 8. I have the stitching done on 6 and 7 and 8 is prepared ready to work on tonight.

Happy Sewing

And these were found in and around my home.

Finally found the time to take a photo for today's UFO report. Last night while watching the State of Origin Rugby League I put the last stitches in the back of the log last it is a whole quilt.

Can't wait till this one is on the bed!

Colourful Friday ~ Red and Green

Decisions ... decisions ... which photo to use?

There was lots of red and green traffic lights in town yesterday; the  parrots outside have lovely red and green feathers but the fly away too quickly; my mum found lots of chilli bushes growing under our old fig tree.

As Robyn has challenged us to only use one photograph I have chosen ...........

Happy Colourful Friday
