Winter and Giveaway

Brrrrrr! Winter tomorrow for us, although I don't get snow where I live.

(desktopexchange.com)
What better way to spend a cold winter's day, than to snuggle under a cozy quilt with a warm cuppa and a good magazine. Krista over at Poppyprint is giving away a copy of 'Quilter's Connection' to share her good news. Pop over to read all.

Mmmmm ... think I'll go pop the kettle on just in case I'm the lucky one.

One Flower Wednesdays

Still 4 hours left of my Wednesday and here I am. State of Origin Rugby League is on the TV but I have my priorities.

My OC got the better of me today so I had to pull out all the 2 1/2" squares and sort them roughly into colour groups. Then I laid out flowers already completed (9 of those); as well as the flower buds (hexies waiting to be made into flowers).

Funny how I thought I had lots of squares and yet when I make all these up, I will only have about 40 flowers plus one hexie of each fabric left over. Of course there is always the rest of my stash to dive into.

As well as sorting, I finished off two flowers that I had started quite a while back. I had sewn the petals to the centre so just needed to stitch between the petals. Which brings me to ask, how do you make your flowers up?

The blue flower at the top is today's NEW flower. Just freshly picked.

I'm really happy with my progress today. How does your garden grow?

One Flower Wednesdays & Feathered Visitors

I think this one among the autumn leaves is my favourite so far.

Lately there has been a lot of evidence (droppings) that a small flock of these guys have made our yard their home. This morning I spotted these two enjoying a green pick outside my window.

A May Finish

They may not be patchworked or quilted but I have been busy sewing.

Thursday I finished the last of the curtains for work. Six pairs or sets of curtains like these. I liked the fabric so much that yesterday I bought some in taupe to make a curtain for our lounge room.

DH lit the wood heater for the first time this morning as the weather is getting quite chilly now. Off to do some ironing ... that always warms things up.

One Flower Wednesdays

So far ... so good! I've managed one flower each Wednesday for three Wednesdays in a row.

The pale fabric is a soft pink but I had trouble photographing it well.

Catalicious One

Although I haven't had any finished projects lately ... I am finishing items ... like Block 1 of the Catalicious BOM which can be found over here at Red Brolly. My BF has also finished her first block and can be viewed at Forever Friday.

I've also managed one hexigon flower for each of the last two Wednesdays ... and it's Wednesday again tomorrow so more gardening for me.

I'm currently working on Block 4 of Red Delicious and when that's finished ... it's on to the next pussy cat.

Happily handworking up a storm.

One Flower Wednesdays

Just before I dash off to work this Thursday morning ... I made this flower yesterday but my internet was too slow to upload the pic last night.

When I set out to make a hexagon project, I bought a pack of 500 X 2 1/5" squares. Each fabric has 4 squares so I've been pairing them up for two tone flowers. Of course I have one hexagon of each fabric left over, so I'm thinking I might add them around the border somehow ... but that's a long long way off.

There are so many new gardeners I haven't had a chance to visit everyone yet but I'm slowly making my way around blogland and having a wonderful time. Thankyou for visiting me also.

Afternoon Delights

As the sun sat low on the Western horizon , I got a chance to sit and relax on Sunday afternoon.

What better way than with a mocha coffee, cream cheese on biscuits and a good magazine. Ahhhhhh!

Oh and on Saturday, I found a good use for this empty container. Plenty of room for lots more hexies.

Hope you found some time to relax over the weekend.
